Review: Texas Roadhouse

About the Restaurant:
Texas Roadhouse is an American chain restaurant that specializes in steaks and promotes a Western theme. Texas Roadhouse Corporation is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. The first restaurant was opened in Clarksville, Indiana, in 1993 at the Green Tree Mall across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky. The chain operates about 320 (July 2009) locations in 46 states. It is known for its free buckets of peanuts at each table.

My Review: We dined at the Texas Roadhouse last night. We were excited to try the restaurant after hearing lots of great things about it.  We were quickly seated and eagerly started looking at the menu. I am all about steaks! When the waiter came over I started asking her questions about a couple of things on the menu. After all you can never be to careful when on a gluten free diet. She answered the questions to the best of her knowledge and said that she would double check with manager on duty to make sure.  The manager came over and said he was aware of what it means to be gluten free and he would make sure that I was taken care of. So you can imagine my chagrin when my meal came out and two pieces of bread were touching my steak and shrimp.
I politely called the waitress over and explained what happened. She and the manager quickly rectified the situation. They went beyond the call of duty in making us feel welcomed and catering their service to meet our needs. I will eat there again.

Shapely Girl Week 1

By the time you read this post I will have completed the first week of the shapelygirl fitness challenge.
What a week it has been!
10-2-12 (workout #1)  The video I choose to review was Lets Get Moving 2-Cardio Toning with Weights. It focuses on upper body weight training as well as cardio. I chose this video because my upper body strength is not what it should be. Not to mention toning can't hurt. :)  First of all I cried because I couldn't make it all the way through the video.  I was frustrated at myself for not being in shape like I should be.  Then I cried because Debra and the other two shapely women in the video just resonated with me. They were so positive and encouraging! She talks about embracing your curves and that shapely girls come in all different shapes and sizes   That I have curves and that I need to embrace my curves! I also cried when I watched the circle time. I love the idea of circle time. I wish every work out had it! In circle time Debra and the ladies discuss fitness, nutrition, motivation, and any topic that might be on the ladies mind that night. I love the camaraderie and support that the women buld with each other.
I was very very sore after the workout but I felt refreshed.

10-4-12 (workout #2)
The second workout I chose to do only the weight segment of the video.  I was able to do more and I felt good. I wish Debra would stop and remind you to drink water or the video would show someone drinking water during the workout. I get so involved in the workout that I forget to drink until it's over. I also after workout I felt less stressed about other areas of my life. Yay for serotonin!

 10-6-12 (workout #3)
For the third workout I choose to do only the cardio segment of the video. I like how Debra lets you choose which workout you do. Some days you simply have more free time than others. I felt fantastic. I had much more energy. I felt more aware of my body and how it feels. I also started noticing that I was able to lift things easier  that my posture was better and I was able to open jars without the help of my husband!

Now here are my measurements. I didn't go down on the scale as much as I'd like but I did lose some inches. I put my information in google documents so I could compare the data easier. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AsGZP8sdLMmtdGxUaS1odUI4cl91QXpuaWtaWVZ4MGc

I'm having a really hard time giving up sodas. Especially during my night class. Any ideas, suggestions, support on how to give them up?

I received a free copy of this book/Ebook/Product to review. I was not required to write a positive review nor was I compensated in any other way. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC Regulations. I am part of CWA Review Crew.
